STUDENTS ENGAGE IN A PLETHORA OF ACTIVITIES DURING SUMMER BREAK
“Having fun is the best way to learning” - Einstein
Summer vacation offers a golden opportunity for the students to hone different life skills while having fun. Summer Camp is the best time to let them indulge in what they love and hone their creative skills. Driven by this aim, Presidium organized an exciting and stimulating Summer Camp for one week. The students got a golden opportunity to tap their inner potentials, shed their inhibitions, and explore themselves under the expert guidance of our qualified teachers. A wide range of exciting activities students could choose from included – Fun with Baking, Musical drama and Vedic Mathematics classes. Apart from these activities, German and French classes were conducted to promote their speaking skills in foreign languages. The idea behind the event was to engage the kids in activities that they find both enjoyable and meaningful and also to provide a uniform platform for all students to explore and express their creativity in any form.
OUR BUDDING CHEFS ENJOY THE FUN BAKING CLASSES!
Summer Vacation is the ideal time to refresh our body and mind. Presidium collaborated with the accomplished Baker @brownsugarpatiserrie, which organized a five-day baking workshop for unleashing creative young minds. These fun baking classes were oodles of fun and a welcome treat to enjoy the summer holiday routine besides providing a creative outlet to the kids. As expected, these classes turned out to be a raging success with tiny tots trying their hands on finger-licking desserts like mango ice-cream chocolate fudge, choco-chip cookies, and pancakes.
PRESIDIANS STUDY THE DIFFERENT PARTS OF PLANTS!
"Learning is not the product of teaching. Learning is the product of the activity of learners."
As it is rightly said, science activities ignite a student's inner scientist. Students of Presidium of Grade IV conducted a virtual activity in science under the theme 'PLANTS.' All students, especially those who live in circumstances that limit their interaction with nature, must have the opportunity to observe a variety of plants in the neighborhood, at home, in parks, and in gardens. This lesson supports students interacting with nature and provides them with a framework for their observations by offering them opportunities to explore, question, and document similarities and differences among plant parts. This activity required them to create a plant using a variety of materials like craft paper, hollow pipe, milk bottle cap, wool, or strings. Students got to know about details of plants like the structures of root, stem, leaves, flowers, and fruits through this activity. Young Presidians also learned about each part by following the Experiential Learning methodology.
PRESIDIANS MARK INTERNATIONAL FAMILY DAY WITH SPECIAL ASSEMBLY
"Family is a circle of strength and love for all individuals."
To rejoice the undeniable importance of the family and commemorate World Family Day, Presidium organized a special assembly in its online classes. A PowerPoint presentation was shown to students to tell them about the importance of the day, and videos of different families were shown in which they were enjoying being together in numerous activities. Teachers discussed the theme of International Family Day 2021. A beautiful video of all the memorable moments of the Presidium family was also shown to students. In the end, a discussion was held regarding staying connected with our near and dear ones especially during this pandemic time. The School Principal guided the students about the importance of the day, emphasizing the traditional family values, and said, "When the unwanted sorrows seem longer than a mile, it's your near and dear ones who make you smile."
PRESIDIANS LEARN ABOUT ADJECTIVES & ABSTRACT NOUNS WITH FUN STORY
A virtual activity was conducted for Presidians of Grade V about the description of Tenali Raman from the story 'Tenali Meets Babur' from their textbook. Through this activity, the students narrated the character of 'Tenali Raman' in a very interesting and striking manner. An abstract noun is a quality or more on something we can only think of, not what we can see or touch. Teachers assisted young learners so that they may improve their script skills. Students used A4 size sheets and also made it creative by adding colours to it. Students mentioned abstract nouns and adjectives in their descriptions, which helped them recapitulate and reinforce their grammar topics.
PRESIDIANS LEARN ABOUT ADDITION & SUBTRACTION OF INTEGERS
The only way to LEARN mathematics is to DO MATHEMATICS.
Mathematics activities help the students to think conceptually and logically. Through activities, students get to know the real application of mathematics in their daily life. In order to make students understand the real concept behind the addition and subtraction of integers, a virtual maths activity was organized for grade VII. In Maths, integers are the numbers that can be positive, negative or zero, but cannot be a fraction. These numbers are used to perform various arithmetic operations, like addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division. The examples of integers are, 1, 2, 5, 8, -9, -12, etc. The symbol of integers is "Z." All the students participated in this activity with great enthusiasm and enjoyed a lot while performing the activity.
A UNIQUE EXPRESSION OF LOVE AND GRATITUDE
Presidians celebrated Mother’s Day in high spirits and merriment. This being one of those occasions that none of us can afford to miss was zealously enjoyed by one and all. Keeping this in mind, Presidians passionately got involved in making beautiful greeting cards, delicacies, dance videos, special collages and even wrote moving verses for their mothers. The children came up with new and innovative ideas for the celebration of this day. They intensely and devotedly spoke about their mothers. It was a pleasure for the mothers to watch their dynamic and energetic children prepare something unique and something special. What else could a mother’s heart want?
LET’S CHERISH THE ESSENCE OF MOTHERHOOD
“There is no love as pure, unconditional, and strong as a mother's love."
Mother is the heartbeat of every family, who not only enlightens her home but the lives of her children as well. Mothers are the emotional backbones of the families, who have the magical touch to heal all wounds and make all experiences beautiful. Presidians took the opportunity to express their heartfelt gratitude towards their mothers through spectacular activities like card making, painting with hand printing etc., on the occasion of Mother's Day. The celebration was an attempt to make everyone understand the unconditional love and support we receive from our mothers. It was a moment cherished by everyone.
