Guru Purnima takes us to the ancient era, where gurus were considered equivalent to God. In keeping with the tradition of revering gurus for their invaluable contribution in shaping the minds and characters of the young people, the quintessence and the significance of the day was illustrated through a special assembly by the students of Grade 5 who seized this opportunity to pay their reverence and show gratitude to the teachers. The assembly commenced with the Morning Prayer followed by the news headlines and thought for the day which laid importance of paying respect to our gurus. A speech on the ‘Guru Purnima’ was delivered by the students. They participated wholeheartedly by making the audience aware about the significance of this day through a skit where their thoughts echoed the age old adage of paying respect to our gurus and that the guru is esteemed just next to God.
